What's new

Effective and last updated 31 October 2026

Every update to Warren, newest first.

  1. Version 1.8.1

    31 October 2026

    • The terms under the plans are shorter and easier to read.
    • Terms, Privacy, the PAIA manual and What's new have a Back to top button.
  2. Version 1.8.0

    31 October 2026

    • Before your 1-Year Pass renews, we email you twice: about 10 weeks and about 3 weeks before, with the date and the price.
    • Deleting your account now also stops your 1-Year Pass from renewing.
    • Clearer Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and a PAIA manual for South Africa.
  3. Version 1.7.3

    31 October 2026

    • The log-in screen fits on a laptop screen without scrolling.
  4. Version 1.7.2

    31 October 2026

    • Screen readers and voice control now say what each expense or income row shows, so you can open one by its name.
  5. Version 1.7.1

    31 October 2026

    • Logging in with an email that has no plan now shows a clear pop-up with a way to see the plans.
  6. Version 1.7.0

    31 October 2026

    • Pay first, then log in: new accounts are only made for an email with a plan, so the log-in screen points new people to the plans.
    • Signing in by email is protected against bots, invisibly for almost everyone.
  7. Version 1.6.2

    30 October 2026

    • Two-step sign-in is now called 2-Step Verification, with a clearer explanation and its status in Settings.
  8. Version 1.6.1

    30 October 2026

    • On iPhone, page titles no longer sit under the blurred strip at the top of the screen.
    • What's new shows an icon for each kind of update: a sparkle for new features, a bug for fixes, a rocket for big updates.
  9. Version 1.6.0

    30 October 2026

    • 2-Step Verification (optional): in Settings, add a 6-digit code from an authenticator app to every sign-in, with backup codes in case you lose your phone.
  10. Version 1.5.0

    30 October 2026

    • Monthly saving on Budgets: pay yourself first with an amount to put away each month. It never counts as spending or sets off an alert.
    • "October so far" shows how much of your saving amount you've kept.
    • Fixed: the refund and export confirmations now show on the Choose your plan screen.
  11. Version 1.4.0

    30 October 2026

    • "October so far" on Overview: what came in, what you spent and what you kept, once you've added income.
    • History shows the same for any period: money in and what you kept of it.
  12. Version 1.3.0

    30 October 2026

    • Add income: the + button now has an Expense | Income switch, with a source to pick (salary, interest, bonus, rental income, pension and more).
    • Imported statements bring in your salary, interest earned and other money in as income, kept apart from your spending. Bank fees and interest charged still count as spending.
    • Income shows in History next to your expenses, and never counts towards your budgets.
  13. Version 1.2.0

    30 October 2026

    • Suggested budgets: Warren works out a monthly budget and a limit for each category from your own spending. Check and change them, then save in one tap.
    • After importing a statement, Warren offers to set your budgets from it.
  14. Version 1.1.2

    30 October 2026

    • Text on iPhone fills the width of its card again, instead of stopping short with a gap on the right.
  15. Version 1.1.1

    30 October 2026

    • Settings is tidier: the grey line under a row now only shows what it's set to, like your country or how many rules you have.
  16. Version 1.1.0

    30 October 2026

    • Contact support and Report a bug are now forms inside Warren: your name and email are filled in, you write and send.
    • The Terms of Service and Privacy Policy open inside the app.
    • What's new: this list of updates, in Settings and on the website.
    • When budget alerts are off, the bell shows it, with a button to turn them back on.
    • Alert descriptions now mention the 50% warning.
  17. Version 1.0.1

    26 October 2026

    • Discovery Bank's shorter CSV export imports straight away, and statements saved in other text formats read correctly.
    • Warren opens faster: your data loads all at once.
  18. Version 1.0.0

    26 October 2026

    • Warren is live.
    • Log an expense in seconds, with categories, subcategories and notes.
    • A monthly budget that carries over, a weekly one worked out for you, and a limit for every category.
    • Warnings at 50%, 80% and when you go over.
    • Import bank statements from a CSV or PDF, read on your device.
    • Repeating expenses, history by day, week, month or year, and export to CSV.
